Outspoken dancers Eleanor Sikorski and Flora Wellesley Wesley, AKA Nora, bring you a double bill of exuberant new duets made especially for them by renowned dance makers Liz Aggiss and Jonathan Burrows and Matteo Fargion.
Aggiss has conceived BLOODY NORA!, a story of competitiveness and hormonal imbalance in which shit tricks become cheap laughs and a Bach is worse than a bite. Burrows and Fargion’s piece ELEANOR AND FLORA MUSIC is a brand new translation of composer Morton Feldman’s score ‘For John Cage’, the source of their iconic Both Sitting Duet (2002).
“Intellectually curious, funny and rude, possessed of chameleon stage talents and a taste for risk”. The Guardian.About:
Nora is the partnership of dancers Eleanor Sikorski and Flora Wellesley Wesley. The two have joined forces with some of the most respected dance makers in the UK and Europe to create a brand new programme of work. Veering between the hysterical and the sublime, their first programme of work, Nora Invites, consists of three duets by choreographers Liz Aggiss (UK), Simon Tanguy (FR) and Jonathan Burrows & Matteo Fargion (UK).
Nora is commissioned by Sadler’s Wells Trust and DanceEast, and co-commissioned by South East Dance. It is supported by Arts Council England through National Lottery Funding, The Nightingale, Greenwich Dance and Trinity Laban Partnership, Dance4, Roehampton University, Leeds Beckett University, Institut Francais du Royaume-Uni and Chisenhale Dance Space.
